Aveni appoints Chief Revenue Officer and recruits senior personnel from IBM, McLaren and Domino’s as company scales up for growth.

Scottish AI software company Aveni today announced the appointment of Elizabeth Gooch, MBE, as the company’s Chief Revenue Officer. Hot on the heels of its recent funding round, the speech analytics company also announced a raft of key design and engineering appointments from some of the world’s leading technology companies.

Holder of numerous board positions at UK technology companies, Gooch is the founder and former CEO of AIM-listed software firm EG Solutions, acquired by US customer analytics company Verint Systems in 2017. She assumes responsibility for driving revenue growth at Aveni, an AI platform for companies in regulated industries that analyses customer conversation data to generate new business insights and drive efficiencies through the automation of customer processes.

“I like the problem that Aveni is trying to solve, I like their use of innovative technology, I like that they want to be the number one in the world in this field, and that they are hiring the best talent to help them achieve that,” said Gooch. “I look forward to helping Aveni develop a scalable, repeatable business model that underpins its ground breaking technology, and to support the company in other areas using my experience building, growing and selling technology businesses.”

Aveni also announced the appointment of principal software engineer Edward Asquith and senior software engineer Sam Faulls from McLaren Applied, the technology solutions subsidiary of the Formula One McLaren Group. Principal designer Chloe Poulter joins the company from IBM, and Matt Pattinson comes from a lead cloud and architecture role at Domino’s to become lead software engineer at Aveni.

The new recruits will further drive the development of Aveni’s natural language processing (NLP) platform and its integration with customer communication technologies in order to solve key industry challenges faced by the people representing companies to the public.

Crucially, Aveni is focused on developing capabilities that can benefit society as well as corporations. This includes providing the ability to identify and support vulnerable customers, as per the recent guidance from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and Ofgem’s consumer vulnerability strategy.

“This is really important work – you are dealing with very sensitive, personal information about people’s lives, so you have to get it right,” said Matt Pattinson. “This kind of responsibility makes me even more passionate about being part of what Aveni is doing – building a Tech for Good innovation with the potential to improve people’s lives.”
