What is Large Language Models (LLM)?
A Large Language Model (LLM) is a type of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can process human language. Through reading large amounts of linguistic data, they learn to recreate the way that humans communicate, and perform tasks such as creating stories, answering questions, writing emails and chatting.
LLMs use Deep Learning neural networks to process and relate the meaning of words and how they fit together in a sentence or written into a document. By exposing these models to these large data sets allows them to produce coherent, human-like text or speech, engaging in knowledgable conversations on most topics when prompted.
Large Language Models (LLM) in financial services
Financial services firms use LLMs to summarise conversations, draft documents and answer questions over internal knowledge. Because general-purpose models are not trained specifically on regulated financial language and processes, firms increasingly evaluate models built or adapted for the sector.
